When your health changes, but your responsibilities continue

Executive Medical Coaching for leaders and entrepreneurs

A medical event can profoundly affect your capacity, your choices, your work, and your personal life. I help you make sense of what has changed and find a way forward with greater calm, clarity, and direction.

When your health changes your course

A diagnosis, procedure or prolonged recovery can shift everything. How do you regain perspective and decide what matters now?

Leading when you are out of balance yourself

Your responsibilities remain, even as your capacity changes. How do you keep making decisions and functioning without pushing yourself beyond your limits?

Recovery is about more than getting better

Medical recovery and being able to live and work again are not the same thing. Discover what you need to regain a sense of direction, rhythm and space in your life.

From insight to concrete steps

Sometimes one focused, in-depth session is enough; sometimes longer-term support is needed. Always tailored to your situation, responsibilities and what is at stake.

Does this feel familiar?

A medical event can affect far more than your health.
The way you work, make decisions, and carry responsibility may suddenly no longer feel as straightforward as it once did.

You may recognise yourself in this:

My health has changed

I still don’t feel like myself.

My mind wants to move forward, while my body is telling me I have different limits.

Ik weet niet goed wat herstel op dit
I’m not sure what recovery is asking of me right now.

My responsibilities continue

My work, business, or team cannot simply be put on hold.

Decisions are still expected of me, even when I have less clarity myself.

I want to keep functioning, but not at the expense of my recovery.

Finding directions again

What am I genuinely capable of handling right now?

How do I avoid returning to my old pace too quickly?

Which choices fit my situation now?

You don’t have to choose between recovery and responsibility.

The question is how to bring the two back into balance.

That is where Executive Medical Coaching begins.

Recovery affects more than your health

A medical event can set many things in motion at once. Not only physically, but emotionally, mentally, relationally and existentially as well. And in the meantime, life continues, with work, relationships, responsibilities and decisions that do not simply disappear.

The Medical Existential Model shows how these different realities are interconnected. At its core is the process of restoring self-care and self-regulation, with attention to body awareness and meaning-making.

Who will be guiding you?

I’m Caroline van Leuven, an Executive Medical Coach..

My background spans entrepreneurship, leadership, coaching and the medical-business world. This means I understand not only the personal impact of a major medical event, but also what happens when responsibility for a business, organisation or other people continues at the same time.

In my coaching, I bring those worlds together. With attention to what your body is telling you, to what is shifting within you, and to the decisions and responsibilities that remain part of everyday life.
